The types of courses and qualifications you can use to make a career in this industry begin at the Certificate II level and progress all the way to university level.
Teachers in Australian schools and some kindergartens need Degrees in Education but Certificate III and IV qualifications are available for many support roles and other positions within the Education and Industry. Examples include:

- Child Care Team Leader – Diploma of Children's Services
- Child Care Centre Managers – Advanced Diploma of Children's Services
